Dr. Tinsley feels that Albert's daughter, Beattie, ought to look after Albert. Christine gets a bill from the plumbers for £1, 1/3. The plumber's mate, Joe Makinson, takes the bill back in sympathy when she can't pay it. Ida alerts Beattie to Albert's collapse and condition but Albert refuses to live with his daughter.
